O-1 Visa - The Job Offer Requirement

|

An individual beneficiary of an O-1 Visa must be planning to go to the U.S. for proposed work. This proposed work can be made in the form of a job offer or an itinerary.

Usually, the petitioning company makes the job offer to the individual beneficiary. The job offer should, at the very least, contain the following information:

1) Name of the employer/petitioner

2) Location of the proposed work

3) Describe the nature of the proposed work

4) Proposed salary

5) Dates of employment

In the event that the individual beneficiary is required to work in more than one location, then the petitioning company or agent must provide an itinerary. If an agent is acting as the individual beneficiary's employer, then the agent MUST provide an itinerary. The itinerary should, at the very least, include the following information:

1) Proposed work or type of work the individual beneficiary will be doing

2) All locations for the proposed work

3) Dates of the proposed work

The O-1 Visa is a type of work visa. However, an O-1 Visa is different from other work visas in that it is for individuals who possess extraordinary ability in certain fields. These fields include:
